Largest Newhouse Daily installing SCS/ClassPag in January 09

The Newark Star-Ledger installs SCS/ClassPag to streamline classified pagination process.

New Jerseys' largest daily circulation newspaper, the Star-Ledger is installing SCS/ClassPag to replace their exsisting FT&A pagination software. Classified ads will be sent over from their Mactive front-end

SCS/ClassPag will be used to paginate both the Trenton Times and the Star-Ledger.

The need to streamline and automate the pagination process was the main reason for the decision.  "Most likely we will be able to cut the pagination time in half" states Brian McCasland, an SCS/ClassPag installation specialist.

Engineered to paginate classified sections of any size quickly, tightly and consistently, SCS/ClassPag is a super-fast classified pagination solution. SCS/ClassPag paginates ads from your front-end system based on predefined placement criteria and is in use with a wide variety of front-ends including SCS's own AdMAX, ATS, CCI, Mactive, Net-linx/SII, Vision Data and newspaper-developed order entry systems.

Wikipedia History: The Newark Daily Advertiser, founded in 1832, was Newark's first daily newspaper. It subsequently evolved into the Newark Star-Eagle, which merged with the Newark Ledger to become the Newark Star-Ledger, later changed to simply The Star-Ledger. (It is still popularly called the Newark Star-Ledger by many New York-area residents because of its heritage and its location in the Garden State's biggest city.)

The Star-Ledger was the recipient of the Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News Reporting in 2005 for its comprehensive and clear-headed coverage of the resignation of the Governor of New Jersey Jim McGreevey, after he confessed to adultery with a male lover.

The paper awards the Star-Ledger Trophy each year to high school teams that end up as the number one team in their respective sport in the state of New Jersey.
