Maracaibo Venezuela, The Trinidad Express and Newark Star-Ledger to install SCS's new CAB-ColorAdBoss application.

ImageSites share vision of collaborative color page assigment between press room and advertising department.

Three sites are on board with SCS's newest application, ColorAdBoss.

ColorAdBoss (CAB) is an add-on to Layout-8000 Version 11. It is used by the Layout operator to place the color ads. ColorAdBoss understands the color capacity of the press and guides the user through the color ad placement.

Once all of the color ads have been placed. ColorAdBoss will create a press map for the press room.

Image"The problem we are solving with this application is the lengthy dialog and bargining that goes on between the Advertising department and the press room concerning color placement,"states Brian McCasland, an SCS installation specialist. Brian worked with the Newak Star-Ledger as beta site for the product. "Since CAB understands the capabilities of the press, the operator can see in real-time the options for color placement, CAB undestands both capacity and complexity when it is calulating configurations for the operator."

ImageOnce the imposition map is created it can be passed to the pressroom via paper or sent as an electronic file to a press system.

The application was in beta release at the Newark Star-Ledger in the fall, it is now available for general release. Trinidad and Maraciabo VE will be install in the 1st quarter of 2009.

ColorAdBoss is an add-on for Layout-8000 V11 and is included in the V11 distribution for a 30 day trial.
